Is Cardio Necessary To Lose Bodyfat

- Cardio is NOT necessary to lose body fat. You can lose weight by diet alone.
- If you decide to exercise also, then you should choose a workout program that involves resistance exercises. Resistance workouts will preserve your existing muscle. This is important because you want the shape of your muscles to show a little, after you lose weight. People who only do cardio, will lose fat but they will also lose muscle. You don't want this because when you lose muscle your metabolism slows down and you won't have much shape to your body after you lose the weight.
- If you train correctly you can get cardio and resistance in the same workout. What this type of training does is burn body fat but also retains your existing muscle. This is important because when you lose weight you will have a tight and toned looking body (because you didn't lose muscle).
- Below is an example of the types of exercises you should be doing to burn calories while retaining muscle.

"Skinny-Fat" Syndrome
...why you need to include resistance exercises in your weight loss program
...why you need to include resistance exercises in your weight loss program
You've probably heard of the "Skinny-Fat Syndrome". This happens when someone decides to lose weight using only cardio but no resistance exercises. They lose fat but they also lose muscle because they don't do any resistance exercises. When you check their body fat percentage it is sometimes the same as it was when they were heavier. This is because they lost both fat and muscle but their overall body fat to muscle ratio/percentage didn't change. So instead of being shapely and more 'toned' after their weight loss, they are just a smaller version of themselves with the same. If you want a program that is focused on avoiding this syndrome and giving you a shapely and toned body after weight loss, check out my FatLossTrans4mation Program ...You can follow the program in your living room or at the gym.
"But I enjoy doing cardio!"
If you enjoy doing cardio then the best way to do it would be to combine compound exercises together, like the one in the video above. Perform a circuit consisting of 3 or 4 of these exercises with the goal being to increase your heart rate to where you normally would during cardio. You will burn a ton of calories while maintaining all of your muscle. Check out the section on Combination Exercises to get and idea of exercises to group together.
